LOWES GARDENING PROJECT

AoC was the recipient of a $5,000 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant. The purpose of the grant was to build an outdoor gardening area for the children to use in conjunction with their science and classroom teachers.

This summer, AoC parents volunteered to plan and build the gardening space, which now includes five raised-bed planters, a composter, a water collection system and storage unit which houses kid-friendly gardening tools.
The grant money was also used to add and repair fencing in the K-1 play area.

The AoC parent volunteers are Tatjana Sofkoska, Ian Pedigo, Cynthia Jenson, Brian Smith, Dawa Gyaltsen and Amanda Lefer, with support from AoC the administration, Richard Lee, Adam Hunt and Australia Rodriguez.
